Admission in South Asian University

South Asian University In order to promote regional cooperation and inculcation of regional consciousness amongst students of South Asia, a South Asian University (SAU) was established in July 2010 jointly by the eight SAARC Member States. The University is currently located in Akbar Bhawan, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, but its own campus will come up in a few years on an 100-acre plot of land in South Delhi. Through a SAARC Inter-Governmental agreement, degrees offered by SAU are recognized in all SAARC countries. Applications are invited for admission to the following academic programmes,each of 2-years duration offered by the SAU in its 3rd Academic Session to commence from July 2012. Academic Programs :
• MA (Development Economics)
• M.Sc. (Computer Science)
• M.Sc. (Biotechnology)
• MA (Sociology)
• MA (International Relations)
• LLM (Master of Laws)

UGC Merit Scholarship

Merit scholarships are offered to the meritorious students from the public universities. Nominations are invited from the universities every year. Nominations are made on the basis of the result in bachelor level. Each nominated student receives Tk. 750/- per month.

Commonwealth Scholarship

Previously UK, Canada and New Zealand every year invited application for commonwealth scholarship and fellowship. Currently only UK invites applications from Bangladesh for following scholarship and fellowship programmes:
  • Commonwealth scholarship open: This scholarship is open to all for doing MS and Ph.D. Advertisement published in daily news papers for inviting application, usually during September. Candidate are selected on the basis of academic results, publications and performance in interview.

  • Commonwealth Academic Staff Scholarship: This scholarship is meant for university teachers for doing MS and Ph.D. Nominations are invited from the universities during the month of August-September. UGC authority finalizes the nomination on the basis of academic background, publication and performance in interview.

  • Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship: This fellowship also offered only to the university teachers for doing post doctoral research. Duration of this fellowship is 6 month. Nomination ore invited from the universities.

  • Commonwealth Split-site Scholarship: University teachers, who are doing PhD in Bangladesh, but need to work in an organization in UK, are eligible to apply for this scholarship. These nominations also invited from the universities.
